Head Coach - Andy Reid, 13th year
Reid is now the longest tenured HC in the NFL and the 4th to reach 100+ wins in a decade. PHI has been to the playoffs in 10 of his 12 season as HC. Reid has also had 27 different players make the Pro Bowl for a total of 63 appearances. LY was the first time in Reid’s coaching career that 2 defensive rookies started the opener for the Eagles.
Asst HC/Offensive Coordinator - Marty Mornhinweg, 9th yr
After working as the 49ers OC/QB coach from 1997-2000, Mornhinweg was the Lions HC from 2001-02. Released after a 5-27 record he joined PHI as a Senior ass’t in 2003, was the ass’t HC in 2004-05 before being named the OC in 2006. Since then PHI has finished 2nd, 6th, 9th, 11th and 2nd in total offense.
QB Coach - Doug Pederson, 1st year
Pederson was a career backup QB spending most of his time in West Coast style offenses from 1996-2004 with GB, PHI and CLE before retiring in 2004. He was a high school coach from 2005-08 before joining PHI as an offensive QC coach for 2009-10. This is his 1st year as an NFL position coach.
RB Coach - Ted Williams, 17th year
Williams started as PHI’s TE coach for 1995-96 before being moved to RB coach. The Eagles have had seven 1,000 yd rushers under Williams and after zero 100 yd rushing efforts in 2009, PHI had 4 by the RB’s in 2010.
WR Coach - David Culley, 13th year
Culley has been an NFL WR’s coach since 1994 when he joined TB for 2 years. He was with PIT from 1996-98 then joining PHI in 1999. PHI has had seventeen 100 yd receiving efforts the L2Y vs 10 in 2007-08.
OL Coach - Howard Mudd, 1st year
Mudd was named part of the 1960’s NFL All-Decade team as an OG. From 1998-2009 he was the Colts OL coach and his OL’s avg’d 18.6 sacks allowed per year with 50 total in his L3Y. He is regarded as one of the top 5 OL coaches in the NFL.
Defensive Coordinator - Juan Castillo, 1st year
Castillo has worked on the offensive side of the ball for PHI his entire career. In 1995-96 he was an offensive asst, moved to TE coach in 1997 and promoted to OL coach from 1998-2010. PHI’s OL had given up 42 or more sacks 7 times in his 13 years.
DL Coach - Jim Washburn, 1st year
Washburn is one of the elite DL coaches in the NFL. He was the Titans DL coach for 12 years as the team avg’d 39.5 sacks while allowing 102 rushing ypg (4.0) in his L4Y with the team.
LB Coach - Mike Caldwell, 1st year
Caldwell was primarily a backup LB for 11 years in the NFL with 21 combined starts for PHI from 1999-2001. He worked as a defensive QC coach from 2008-09, an asst LB coach in 2010 before being promoted to LB coach for 2011.
Secondary Coach - Johnnie Lynn, 1st year
Lynn was a CB/Safety for NYJ from 1979-86. He has been a secondary coach in the NFL S/’94. He was with SF from 2006-Dec ‘10 before resigning. The 49ers best finish in pass D under Lynn was 20th (2008) and SF tallied 71 int’s in his 5Y with the team.
Special Teams Coordinator - Bobby April, 2nd year
April is one of the top 5 special teams coaches in the NFL. From 2004-09 the Bills ranked 6th or better in our special teams rankings under April’s tutelage. In 2010, PHI improved from 21st to 9th in our rankings. |
