Head Coach - Mike Shanahan, 2nd year
After 14 yrs with DEN (1995-2008) and sitting out the ‘09 season, Shanahan became the HC of his 3rd team in ‘10. From 2002-’08, DEN only had 1 ssn where they ranked lower than 11th on offense. Shanahan is the owner of the 152 career reg ssn wins.
Offensive Coordinator - Kyle Shanahan, 2nd year
After serving as the HOU WR coach in ‘06 and their QB coach in ‘07, Shanahan was promoted to OC for 2008-’09. In his 1st year HOU avg’d 382 ypg (3rd) and 22.9 ppg (17th). In 2009 HOU earned 383 ypg (4th) and 24.3 ppg (10th). LY WAS went from 313 ypg (22nd) and 16.6 ppg (26th) to 336 ypg (18th) and 18.9 ppg (25th).
QB Coach - Matt LaFleur, 2nd year
LaFleur served as an offensive asst for HOU in 2008-’09 working with the WR’s and then QB’s. 2010 was his 1st yr as a full time NFL position coach and WAS had five 300 yd passing gms.
Asst HC/RB Coach - Bobby Turner, 2nd year
Turner was the Broncos RB coach from 1995-2009. DEN had eleven 1,000 yd rushing seasons by 6 different RB’s during this tenure with 10 finishes in the Top 5 for NFL rushing.
WR Coach - Keenan McCardell, 2nd year
McCardell was a 17 yr WR with 168 starts who retired in 2007 with WAS. In 2009 he interned with the NYG in their training camp then joined WAS in 2010 as they had four 100 yd rec efforts last year.
OL Coach - Chris Foerster, 2nd year
With 19 years coaching experience under his belt, Foerster has worked as an OL coach and OC in the NFL. He was BAL’s OL coach from 2005-’07 then went to SF in 2008-’09 to work with their OL. In 2009 SF allowed 40 sacks (1 every 13.2 att’s) and in 2010 WAS allowed 4 sacks (1 every 11.4 attempts).
Defensive Coordinator - Jim Haslett, 2nd year
Haslett has been a winner in the NFL as a player (8 yrs), DC (10 yrs) and HC (7 yrs). He won the 1979 NFL Def ROY, the 2000 NFL Coach of the Year serving as NO’s HC (2000-’05) and is very respected as a DC. In his first yr with WAS they went from 10th in Def (18th pts) to 31st (tied 21st) as they moved to the 3-4.
DL Coach - Jacob Burney, 2nd year
Burney was the Broncos DL coach from 2002-’08 under Mike Shanahan where they allowed an avg of 111 ypg (4.3) rushing. After sitting out 2009, he joined WAS for 2010 where they allowed 128 ypg rush (4.6) in his first year.
LB Coach - Lou Spanos, 2nd year
Spanos was a defensive asst with PIT for 15 years working primarily with the LB’s and DB’s prior to joining WAS. 2010 was his 1st year as a full time NFL position coach with the LB’s earning 18 of the teams 29 sacks (62%).
Defensive Backs - Bob Slowik, 2nd year
Slowik has 19 years coaching in the NFL with 10 as a DC including the 2007-08 seasons with DEN (19th and 29th finishes). A career DB coach, WAS allowed a 7.5 ypa with a 23-14 ratio in his first year vs a 7.0 ypa and 19-11 ratio by WAS in 2009.
Special Teams Coach - Danny Smith, 8th year

Smith coached the BUF ST’s from ‘01-03 where they finished 23rd, 21st and 7th in our rankings. He joined WAS in ‘04 w/3 Top 10 finishes from 2005-07. LY WAS improved from 24th to 16th.
