Head Coach - Tom Coughlin, 8th year
Coughlin has led the Giants to 6 straight non-losing seasons which is the 2nd longest in club history (1954-’63). He is one of 3 coaches to lead 2 different teams to a playoff berth 4 years in a row. He was the Jags HC from 1995-2002, sat out football in 2003 before taking over for the Giants in 2004. His 133 career regular season wins as a HC are 4th best in the NFL.
Offensive Coordinator - Kevin Gilbride, 8th year
In Gilbride’s 4 seasons as the Giants OC they have finished in the Top 10 for ttl offense 3 straight years and 11th or better in points in 3 years. He was the QB coach here from ‘04-’06, has 22 years experience in the NFL and was Coughlin’s OC in 1995-’96.
QB Coach - Mike Sullivan, 8th year
Sullivan was the NYG’s WR coach from 2004-’09 before being moved to QB coach in 2010. During that time the Giants had twenty eight 100 yd receiving efforts. In 2010 he helped Manning hit the 300 yd passing mark 4 times.
RB Coach - Jerald Ingram, 8th year
Ingram has produced a 1,000 yd rusher in 7 of his 8 yrs as the Giants RB coach. He has been an assistant coach to Coughlin in some form for 20 yrs. In 1998-2000 with Coughlin as the HC, the Jaguars were the only team to have 2,000 yds rushing each yr.
WR Coach - Sean Ryan, 7th year
Ryan had to deal with a slew of inj’s to the WR unit in his 1st yr as WR coach in 2010. However, NY still had eight 100 yd rec efforts. He was the Giants off QC coach from 2007-’09.
OL Coach - Pat Flaherty, 8th year
Flaherty joined the Giants after coaching the Bears TE’s from 2002-’03. The Giants OL had the same 5 starters for 38 straight games from 2007-’09. The Giants have allowed an avg of 30 sacks a year, or 1 every 17.6 pass attempts in his tenure here.
Defensive Coordinator - Perry Fewell, 2nd year
Fewell was Coughlin’s DB coach in JAX from 1998-2002. After working for STL and CHI as a DB coach he went to BUF to be their DC. From 2006-’09 BUF finished 18th, 31st, 14th and 19th in ttl defense. He also served as the Bills interim HC for the last 7 games of 2009 (3-4). In 2010 the Giants improved from 13th to 7th in total defense with their sacks increasing from 32 to 46.
DL Coach - Robert Nunn, 2nd year
Nunn was the TB DL coach in ‘09 (#32 rush def) after serving as the DT coach for GB in 2005-’08. He has also worked for MIA and WAS as a def assistant. In Nunn’s 1st yr here the rush def improved by 153 yds on the yr vs 2009.
LB Coach - Jim Hermann, 3rd year
Hermann served as the Jets LB coach from 2006-08 before coming to the Giants in 2009. He was the Michigan DC from 1997-2005 leading the nation in total and scoring defense in his 1st year. In 2009 the Giants allowed 26.7 ppg (30th) and improved to 21.7 (tied 11th) in 2010.
Cornerbacks Coach - Peter Giunta, 6th year
Giunta joined NY in ‘06, after 5 seasons as KC’s DB coach. He was the DC in STL from 1998-2000 (DB coach in 2007) and also coached with the NYJ and PHI. The Giants have finished 11th, 8th, 15th and 9th in pass defense since a #28 ranking in his 1st yr.
Safeties Coach - David Merritt, 8th year
Merritt broke into the NFL in 2001 as a defensive asst for the Jets staying there for 3 years. In 2004 he was a defensive QC coach here, a defensive asst in 2005 then was promoted to safeties coach in 2006. He has a reputation for developing lower tier players and getting the most out of them.
Special Teams Coordinator - Tom Quinn, 6th year
Quinn was Stanford’s ST’s cch from 2002-’05 and also coached TE’s in 2002-’03 and OLB’s in 2004-’05. He joined NY as a ST’s asst in ‘06 and took over as STC in ‘07. NY has finished 23rd, 4th, 12th and 29th in our rankings since he took over.
