Head Coach - Pete Carroll, 2nd year
Carroll is the 8th HC in Seahawks history and this is his 3rd NFL HC job (NYJ 1994, NE 1997-’99). He is best known for his 97-19 record at USC for the 2001-’09 seasons. He won 7 straight Pac-10 Titles and 2 National Championships (2003-’04) as their HC.
Offensive Coordinator - Darrell Bevell, 1st year
Bevell entered the NFL as an offensive asst for GB from 2000-’02 before being promoted to QB coach for the 2003-’05 seasons. He spent 2006-’10 as the Vikings OC finishing 13th or lower on offense 4 of his 5 years (5th in 2009).
QB Coach - Carl Smith, 1st year
Smith has been an NFL QB coach for NO, NE with 2 stops in CLE. He has spent 13 of his 21 years in the NFL as an OC including from 2005-’07 with the Jaguars with rankings of 15th, 10th and 7th respectively. He sat out 2008 then returned to CLE to be a QB coach in 2009 finishing 32nd in passing (29th LY).
RB Coach - Sherman Smith, 2nd year
Smith was a 2nd RD DC of SEA in 1976 and played for 8 years. He was the Oilers/Titans RB coach from 1995-2007 with six Top 10 rush offenses in his tenure. Smith then served as WAS OC from 2008-’09 with finishes of 19th and 22nd. He rejoined SEA in 2010 where they have had 0 100 yd rushers last year.
WR Coach - Kippy Brown, 2nd year
Brown has been a CFB/NFL coach since 1978. He has worked as an NFL RB coach for 5 years, WR’s coach for 9 years and an OC for 4 years. He was MIA’s OC from 1996-’99 finishing 14th, 11th, 16th and 20th respectively. He was the Univ of Tenn WR coach for their ‘09 bowl but joined SEA in Jan 2010.
OL Coach/Asst Head Coach - Tom Cable, 1st season
Cable entered the NFL in 2006 as the Falcons OL coach as they won the rushing title. He was the Raiders OL coach in 2007-08 finishing 6th and 10th in rushing. He took over as OAK’s HC in 2008 after 4 games. OAK achieved their 1st non-losing season in 8 years in 2010 under Cable who left with a 17-27 overall record.
Defensive Coordinator - Casey Bradley, 2nd year
Bradley was a defensive QC coach for TB in 2006 before taking over the LB’s for 2007-08. In 2009 he took over as SEA’s DC with a 24th finish in yards and 25th in ppg. In 2010 SEA was 27th and 25th respectively on defense.
DL Coach - Todd Wash, 1st year
Wash started in the NFL as TB’s def QC coach in 2005. For the next 5 years he was the DL coach for a defense that allowed an avg of 127 ypg (4.3). TB’s DL had 15 of the teams 26 sacks in 2010 (58%) vs 21.5 of 28 (77%) in 2009.
LB Coach - Ken Norton Jr, 2nd year
Norton was a 2nd RD DC of DAL in 1988 who played 6 years for the Cowboys followed by 7 years with the 49ers. From 2004-09 he was USC’s LB coach under Carroll. In 2010 SEA LB’s had 5.5 of the teams 37 sacks (15%) with 3 of 12 Ints (25%)
Secondary Coach - Kris Richard, 2nd year
Richard was a 3rd RD DC of SEA in 2002 who played 3 years with the Seahawks followed by 1 year for SF. He was a graduate asst at USC in 2008-09 working with DB’s. Richard joined SEA as its CB coach in 2010 ending the year with the #27 pass defense.
Special Teams Coach - Brian Schneider, 2nd year
After coaching ST/TE’s at Iowa St in 2006, Schneider operated as the Raiders STC for 2007-08 finishing 12th and 2nd in our rankings. He then served as USC’s STC in 2009, joining SEA in 2010 and snaring our top spot in our rankings.
